Amy C. Zampella is the owner of Heartline Massage Therapy, with over 12 years experience as a massage therapist. Originally trained in environmental science at Rutgers University, she spent 8 years in the environmental consulting business, specializing in hazardous waste investigations and remediation. She realized the dream of a more fulfilling career when she moved to New Mexico in 1997 to attend Crystal Mountain Apprenticeship in the Healing Arts.
She has taken advanced courses in neuromuscular therapy for neck and back, medical massage for cervical strain, Repetitive Use Injury Therapy® with Michael Young, Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques® with Erik Dalton, and deep tissue massage. Amy completed Bodywork for the Childbearing Year® with Kate Jordan in 2003, and is a certified pregnancy and post-partum massage therapist. Amy has also been fortunate enough to learn specific muscle treatments from other well known teachers. Her advanced training includes assessment & treatment of knee, shoulder, & elbow injuries with Ben Benjamin, forearm, wrist & elbow massage with Ralph Stephens, and Neurostructural Integration Technique. Amy has many years experience in treating personal injury (car accident) cases, and has worked closely with chiropractors in the community.
Amy’s practice focuses on swedish, neuromuscular therapy, sports, deep tissue, and pregnancy massage. Amy also blends elements of reflexology and polarity into her treatments when appropriate. Custom blended aromatherapy massage is available at no extra charge using 100% pure essential oils. Organic and natural massage oil and cream are used in the treatments. She brings a tremendous amount of love and compassion to her work and is honored to be in this profession.
Amy is certifed by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and the State of New Mexico Massage Therapy Board. She is a professional member in good standing with the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), and is listed in their Find a Massage Therapist® locator service. Amy has been a member of of the Northern New Mexico Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) for 9 years. She also served on the Board from 2003-2005. Amy is currently on the American Massage Therapy Association New Mexico Chapter 2010-2011 Board and is the website committee chairperson.
Amy is the owner of Heartline Wellness Center, where she shares the space with another massage therapist, a doctor of oriental medicine, and a hypnotherapist. Amy's other passions include natural health and nutrition, music, cooking, cycling, and yoga.
