About Me

Tom Hillig, CMT

In February 2009 Tom was given a gift.  Having been let go of a job in printing he joined his desire to help people with his love of sports to become a Sports Rehabilitation Therapist.  He attended Fremont College in Cerritos and earned an A.S. degree in May of 2011.  Tom graduated Magna Cum Laude and was president of the Student Ambassador group.  During his training, that included 1125 hours of hands on training, Tom was awarded the Chairman’s Award 4 times for having 4.0 grade point average in a semester.

As a life long Lakewood resident and graduate of Lakewood High School in 1990, he partnered with Doctor Erika Mireles in September of 2011 wanting to give back to the community he loves.  Proud father of two active teens, one a current Lancer and the other a future Lancer, Tom stays active getting his family to their various activities and appointments.  Whether it’s a basketball or football game or practice with his son or a Jobs Daughter event for his daughter they stay very busy.  He is an avid hockey fan and player having played many seasons on the LW with an adult league team at Glacial Gardens and has had season tickets to the L.A. Kings for over a decade.  While in high school Tom excelled at volleyball earning All-City and All-League honors, he has been known to show up for a yearly alumni match at the Lakewood High School gym.

Tom joins us as our deep tissue specialist and our sports injury/training therapist.  He uses a less invasive technique called positional release, all of the relief of deep tissue without the lingering soreness for a quicker recovery.  It works wonderfully with muscles all over the body and with the shorter recovery time you can return to what you love to do even sooner.  While still attending school, he worked two internships. The first internship was with the athletic training department at Cal State University Dominguez Hills and the other with the Serra High School track teams.  He is also currently working with an Olympic hopeful with his eyes towards London in 2012.  If you’re looking to improve your training or recover faster from injuries he is ready to serve you.
