A message from your therapist:

Welcome to Quiet Contemplation Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork(QCTMB), an all encompassing environment. I am dedicated to supporting you on your personal wellness journey, regardless of your beliefs or opinions. Humans come in all shapes and sizes-genetics and lifestyle playing key roles in forming these shapes. My mission is to assist you in feeling renewed and ready to face the world; to utilize my knowledge and ever evolving skills to help you meet your bodywork goals.

Some people recognize hypertonic (tight) muscles and hope to eliminate pain associated with the condition.  Some come to shed themselves of the everyday concerns that occupy their mind so constantly that it is preventing them from enjoying those things around them that bring happiness, like family, friends, hobbies; in general life's celebrations.  There are people who use massage to enhance athletic performance, recover from exercise or in conjunction with /in addition to rehabilitation after injury or surgery. Whatever the reason, you can be assured that your purpose and goals will be honored.

Sessions are customized holistically, all aspects of your human needs: psychological, physical and social will be taken into account. We are the sum of all parts & each influences the other.

Pay attention to your body's cues and always speak to your therapist about what you like and dislike. It is perfectly fine to say, less pressure please," or "wow, I really like that technique."  We discuss more about communication at our initial visit-knowing what to expect helps people relax and questions are always welcome!  Bodywork will not be performed in a manner you are not comfortable with

Conversation.  The amount of talking during a sessions is entirely up you as a client.  It is common for a new client to feel more comfortable speaking to their therapist while becoming acclimated to the massage experience, while others enjoy complete silence or the faint background music.  Everyone is different.  Keep in mind that much of the healing you do is a result of your body awareness, and you may benefit from tuning in to your mind and body, especially if quiet and stillness are rare. You will be amazed at the overall feeling of wellness you can experience just from giving yourself this time! Time is allotted for discussion of the session and plans for future sessions, but we all know how easy it is to get off track talking about upcoming events or our pets.  While I love to connect with people, in order to prepare myself, the space, and respect the next client's time, I ask that we be mindful of after session conversation.
