I am insured and have been licensed for 24 years. I am Nationally Certified and a member of The American Massage Therapy Association. I work from my home in Fort Lauderdale by the beach and I also do out calls in the Fort Lauderdale area.
My massage training and practice is clinically based so I begin each session with a small intake. This consists of a quick medical assessment and a discussion of why you chose massage and what your expectations are. As far as my work is concerned, I possess great technical skill as well as a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology. In addition, I have learned over the years that the best way to set yourself up to give a great massage is to have great communication skills. Listening well and asking the right questions will ensure that the right treatment is given and expectations are met. I treat acute and chronic pain caused by hypercontracted muscles and spasms. This kind of work can be deep and a bit painful but my clients describe it to me as " good pain". I balance this by using longer, slower strokes to help relax the body. These gentler strokes also help to detoxify the body, improve circulation and relieve stress. I like to work appropriate stretches into each massage I give. Stretching improves flexibility and increases range of motion. It promotes better posture and prevents tight muscles from contracting and causing injuries. I provide soothing music and candles and use heated Biotone Creme.
